SURF CITY VOL. FIRE CO.

   FIRE PRE-PLANNING
It is the goal of the Surf City Volunteer Fire Company Pre Planning Committee to make our firefighters better prepared to fight major fires in commercial buildings in our community. This committee is led under the direction of Captain Robert Luft, Jr.

The idea of fire pre-planning is for our firefighters to gain access inside commerical properties to familiarize firefighters with the layout of the building, know how & when the building was built, what type of special hazards are present inside the building, knowing the location of the Water, Natural Gas, and Electrical panels for quick shut off incase of an emergency, just to name a few things.

We ask that all commercial property owners to please contact Captain Luft and let our firefighters conduct a pre plan survey of your building. By letting us do so, it will save you from property damage (for example quick shut off of running water) and may be able to save lives of you, your employees, and customers in the event of an emergency. Please know that this will NOT be a fire inspection! Fire Inspections are handled by the Ocean County Fire Marshall's Office, and it is not in our scope of practice to perform a fire inspection.

The Surf City Fire Company Pre Plan Committiee would like to thank the following businesses for their participation in the pre plan program:

The Surf City Hotel, Anchor Produce, Surf Side Coffee House, Tuckerton Lumber Company, The Ethel Jacobson Elementary School, 4 Bee's Polish Deli, Ciao Bella and The Surf City Yacht Club.
